  • The Next-Gen MacBook Air: Why the Rumored Apple M3 Chip Makes it a Must-Buy

According to reports from China Times (via Wccftech), Apple’s upcoming M3 chip is said to pack more power than initially anticipated. This development could bode well for the next-generation MacBook Air. The M3-series chip is expected to utilize TSMC’s N3E 3-nanometer process, which is a more advanced production process than previously speculated. This upgrade is a welcome change for Apple, as it means that the company will be the first to use this advanced process node. This development could lead to the next MacBook Air and iPad Pro being significantly more powerful than their predecessors, making them attractive options for those seeking high-performance laptops and tablets.

    Overclocking is quite good
Asus has finally revealed the frequencies for its most overclocked GeForce RTX 3080 graphics card – ROG Strix GeForce RTX 3080 (ROG-STRIX-RTX3080-O10G-GAMING).

The graphics processor of this adapter operates at frequencies up to 1935 MHz, which is 13.2% higher than the reference value. And it looks like this is the record-breaking factory overclock for the new Nvidia flagship so far. The memory of the card is not overclocked and operates at a standard frequency of 19 GHz.

As for the rest, the adapter is 318.5 mm long and 140 mm high, which is a huge card. It takes up almost three expansion slots due to a massive cooling system with three fans.

  • Independent tests of 11th Gen Intel Core mobile processors released

Independent tests of 11th Gen Intel Core mobile processors released

In early September, Intel announced a new series of mobile processors, the 11th Gen Intel® Core ™, also known as Tiger Lake. During the presentation, the company talked about significant progress and strengths, claiming that these processors will be the best platform for thin and light notebooks. Independent tests of notebooks based on these processors have now surfaced on the web to validate Intel’s claims.

Leading laptop makers have a wide variety of 11th Gen Core processor-based solutions planned, but all of them should only be available in October. Therefore, now a prototype has been tested in leading publications, which was a 14-inch laptop on the flagship Core i7-1185G7 processor (with Intel® Iris® Xe Graphics), equipped with 16 GB of dual-channel LPDDR4X-4266 SDRAM and a terabyte Samsung SSD PM981a.

In its review, Tomshardware.com compared this mobile computer to the Lenovo Yoga Slim 7 powered by the rival’s flagship 25W 8-core 7nm mobile processor, the Ryzen 7 4800U, as well as the Razer Blade Stealth 13 laptop, which uses a 25W quad-core 10nm Core i7-1065G7 processor from the previous Ice Lake family. Both competing models had similar hardware configurations.

In tests, the system based on the new Core i7-1185G7 showed a significant advantage over the previous generation Core i7-1065G7 laptop, and in addition, in single-threaded mode it was about 38% faster than a laptop with a Ryzen 7 4800U processor (according to Geekbench 5.2). With half the number of cores, Tiger Lake did not win in multi-threaded tests, but the lag was not as strong as one might expect.

11th generation Intel Core laptops will be available in October

Mobile 10nm Intel® processors, codenamed Tiger Lake, were officially announced at the beginning of the month, but the company spoke only in passing about the timing of the real availability of laptops based on them. It has now become known that no delays are expected in shipments, and what’s more, the first thin and light notebooks with 11th Gen Intel® Core ™ processors are available for purchase in October / November.

When asked about the timing of the actual appearance of laptops based on new processors, Intel has always been very restrained, stating only that such laptops will be available for sale by the holiday season. Moreover, it later became known that some of the models from the list of 11th generation Core processors will actually be released only in 2021 (this applies to the quad-core Core i3-1125G4 and Core i3-1120G4). Nevertheless, as follows from the statements of the laptop manufacturers, systems based on Tiger Lake should hit store shelves pretty soon.

Last week, PCWorld was able to confirm with an Intel representative that shipments of Tiger Lake production chips would begin in October. In addition, some laptop manufacturers, for example, ASUS and MSI, directly announced the start of global sales of finished products based on them next month during their presentations.

As we were assured by the manufacturers, in the case of solutions based on 11th generation Intel Core processors, there will be no serious delay. Acer even promises to start selling in Russia at least four models of the Aspire 5, Swift 3 and Swift 5 series with 14- and 15-inch displays during October.

  • Xiaomi to unveil affordable 360Hz gaming monitor in November

Xiaomi to unveil affordable 360Hz gaming monitor in November

Recently, it was reported that Xiaomi is planning to release a new gaming monitor on November 11. According to reports, the device will receive a 24.5-inch matrix, which will boast a high refresh rate, and at the same time it will be priced at just $ 150.

According to the leaks, the device can receive either 240 Hz or 360 Hz matrix manufactured by AUO. Although sources are inclined to believe that the second option will be used in the device, the use of such a screen in a $ 150 monitor seems unlikely. Other manufacturers who recently introduced 360Hz monitors rated them much higher. For example, ASUS for its ROG Swift PG259QN requested 66 thousand rubles.

Currently, the manufacturer has five monitors in its range. These are the 34-inch Mi Curved Display and the 27-inch 165Hz Mi Gaming Display, each costing around $ 323. As well as the affordable 23.8-inch Mi Display 1A and Redmi Display A1, for which they ask for $ 99 and $ 88, respectively.

It’s worth noting that high refresh rate gaming monitors are on the rise this year. If Xiaomi does release a 360Hz monitor for $ 150, the device is sure to be doomed to success.
